In an all-flash array, what you're really looking at initially are things like the latency. The latency is much lower. And there's a big difference in arrays that are designed for all flash from the ground up compared with arrays that were adapted from a traditional hard disk drive design.

All-flash arrays designed from the ground up for flash are architected to take advantage of the inherent benefits of flash. So, you're going to get a significant difference in array performance for those that are designed as all flash. Arrays that were originally designed as a spinning disk system or even as a hybrid system come along with some compromises when it comes to performance.
Also, we have performed a lot of array performance testing and looking into the difference of designs. And we see that the systems designed for a spinning disk can vary in the amount of performance they get, based on the percentage of solid state in the system.
Some of the vendors have made some very significant design changes to speed arrays that were designed for spinning disk. Those can result in a two- to fivefold performance increase. Still, if you look at a system designed for all flash, it's significantly more. You may see a tenfold performance increase for the same investment.
