Fusion-io SDK enables native flash memory access

Fusion-io Inc., announced this week that a software development kit (SDK) is available to software developers.

Fusion-io Inc., announced this week that a software development kit (SDK) is available that will give software developers native access to the company’s ioMemory platform for optimizing applications by integrating them with the persistent memory tier.

According to the company, the new SDK includes application programming interfaces within user-space libraries, and the SDK’s libraries also include other Fusion-io functionalities -- such as Atomic Writes and Auto Commit -- to speed up application development as well as the system performance of popular applications.

The SDK will also include features aimed at reducing latency, improving memory efficiency and reducing code complexity, Fusion-io said, and will be implemented directly on the ioMemory platform.

The company also offers a developer program to assist programmers in optimizing applications to run natively on ioMemory, according to Fusion-io.
